  • K2 Cinch CTC

2 of my brothers apparently always wanted to try the K2 Cinch CTC binding but never purchased it before because the bindings have always been pretty pricey and still is.  The concept of the Cinch is suppose to be the best of both worlds and what that means is the Cinch is a hybrid of both the traditional strap bindings and the easy in and out back entry of the Flow bindings.  I think it is an excellent compromise but K2 failed at making it perfect because the ratchets are poorly made and very stiff to pull in and out.  If K2 wants to perfect the hybrid then they need to spend more time and money on a better ratchet system regardless of the amount of use of the actual ratchet itself because you won't be fiddling with the ratchet much but you still have to customized the ratchet to your set preference.  I was able to grab the Cinch on sale so now my oldest brother can pass his old Flow binding to my little brother because he was in need of a better fitting binding since his binding was a large and even though he wants a Cinch, he would gladly settle for a Flow.  Personally, I prefer traditional bindings but that's just me.

  • Snow Valley Resort

I went with my siblings to try out what the fuss was about pertaining to Snow Valley because my oldest brother and his friends insist that their favorite place to board is officially Snow Valley.  I was a bit skeptical because it is not a popular resort so I was thinking it was going to be another Mt High.  When we were almost there, there was a check point and even though our car had 4WD, they still made us turn around which was ridiculous because the condition wasn't even that bad!  Luckily for us, Vu lived nearby in Highland so we just went to his house and picked up his chains.  The worst part is that when we got back to the check point, the security check ended!  So that was a big waste of time.  Once we got to the resort, the parking lot was SO empty!  We geared up and headed on up.  It had snowed the night before but they still had massive snow machines every 10 ft apart running constantly and their man made snow was very good quality snow.  I was surprised at how long the trails were because Mt High's trails are short compared to Snow Valley's.  The angle of the slopes are much better than at Mt High even the easy trails because it was angled enough to still continue moving since no one wants to be stuck in the valley of death.  We were all testing out our new gears and I would of liked it more if my bindings were broken in more because the straps were so stiff that it was hurting my ankles so badly that it left a bruising.  My older brother and I were having problems getting off the lift with our new rocker boards because our bases are sintered so it was very slick and with its rocker shape there was less traction to slow down versus our extruded camber boards.  Unfortunately for my older brother, while getting off to do his 2nd run, his board slipped underneath him so he fell down in a weird manner and dislocated his shoulder so that ended his day.  Although it's not too bad because the lift tickers were dirt cheap with the 4 pack deal for 99 bucks.  Snow Valley was pretty sweet and pretty empty so you can have the whole place to yourself!

  • Oakley Stockholm

As you may have known, I already have a pair of Oakley goggles, but the XS had limited vision considering they are youth size.  However, the XS is by far the best pair of goggles that I have experienced.  I had my shares of Smith and Scott goggles but they all had the same problem, fog.  On the other hand, no matter how hard I tried to fog my XS, it just wouldn't stay foggy but rather dissipated in an instant so I am impress but also by the clarity of the lens.  I had a chance to order a free pair of goggles up to $100 so I optioned for the Oakley Stockholm because it was an adult size and came with pink iridium lenses.  Although the Stockholm is $120, it was on sale for under $100 so I still grabbed it for free.  Now, I just need to test it out on the slopes.

  • Shopaholic In Denial

I admit, I have been shopping a little more than I should but at the same time it would be wrong to not be shopping because for starters, nothing that I have purchased on my shopping frenzy has been full retail because I either got a percentage coupon on the entire purchase or the items were totally discounted.  Therefore, my savings on each item were about 20% to 70% off so if I were to purchased these items at a different time then poof there goes the extra savings I could of had.  At times, I just giggle to myself because we would literally rack up 800 bucks worth of stuff and end up only paying 100 bucks or so for it.  Although I do feel bad at times but not for the store but for the people that are in line behind us because we always buy so much crap so we take forever to finally check out of the store and leave.  So what's up with the crazy shopaholic behavior?  The only reason besides the killer sales is because we buy so much stuff from one store that we are only able to hit up about 2 stores before we head back home since the bags are so freaking heavy and we literally spend the whole time shopping and buying out the entire store so we have to come back a different day and shop at a different store.  We have issues so deal with it.

  • The Wait Ends Now

Today marks the blah blah anniversary of Veterans but who really cares about that because today is the official opening day of Mammoth and Mt High!  But speaking of Veterans Day, military are able to go boarding for free today!  The wait is finally over!  Even though I will not be boarding any time soon but it still makes me feel better knowing that there is snow and that I can go boarding if I wanted to.  We have longed for this day for a long time because we all really want to try out our new gears.  We want to know if these new gears will work to our preference or not.  So, I can't wait for Mammoth!

    Just the beginning...

  • I Couldn't Resist My Urges

Yes, it's true.  I couldn't resist my urges, my lust, my desires.  The dirty thoughts overwhelmed my senses of rationality and made me succumbed to my inner demon.  Although I shouldn't be blaming myself because I am only human and humans are born with desires that needs to be fulfilled by pleasurable objects or emotions.  I am human damn it so don't freaking judge me!  So the question is, what did I do?  The answer is simple, I purchased more snow gears but I couldn't resist because I had the chance of receiving a $130 pair of goggles for free plus take care of my Christmas list for my ungrateful siblings.  So don't judge me, skank.

  • Happy Halloween Weeners!

Although I won't be trick or treating or doing anything remotely exciting for Halloween, at least I will still have butt loads of candy to eat so om nom nom for me!  Remember to always check your candy before you eat it because you will have a few rotten candy in your bag so observe before you pop anything in your mouth.  If you receive something that's not candy then chug it back at whoever gave it to you and tell them to suck it.  Although I do miss receiving a loaf of miniature Wonder bread from this one house at my old neighborhood because it was just so freaking cool!

  • Jason Chen

I've been up to a lot of things lately so I haven't been posting on any blogs.  I am currently brainstorming up a few ideas that I want to make a project out of it but haven't had the time to pursue so I don't see things happening any time soon.  I have been using my spare time to catch up on YouTube channels specifically in comedy and music.  I am really liking Jason Chen and he's not bad on the eyes either.  He's such a cutie like Kim Bum and boy can the boy sing plus he is from the 626 so maybe I can stalk him kekeke just kidding of course!  Or not.  ;D

  • With Quest Crew & Kollaboration

As we were walking around looking for the information desk so we can pick up a map of the fair because the fair was so freaking huge, we ran into Quest Crew.  They were just hanging around outside the building that they were going to be performing in.  They were cool and were nice enough to pose for a few pictures and give their autographs and even recorded my sister to feature in one of their next video features on their website.  I knew they were short but I never knew they were this short.  At least, she was able to get all their autographs twice because she also stayed for their meet and greet after their show too and pictures with most of them except for Feng since he wasn't outside at the time, Aris and Brian since she didn't cared for, and Lydia, Dominic and Andy weren't there that day.  Also, was able to take a picture and autographs from Clara Chung after her performance and Jason Yang before his performance.  But seriously, everyone looks so much taller on video.
